Kelly King
Owner, Creative Director, Marketing and Branding Specialist
Kelly cut her marketing teeth some 25 years ago on a quintessential kids product: breakfast cereal. As a brand manager for Kraft Foods, she launched and managed Post cereals, which in turn launched her on a career path that has included agency work and being an independent consultant.
Now, after more than two decades of strategic marketing, branding and web design on behalf of clients in a variety of industries, Kelly has rekindled her passion for the launching brands with strong personality.
Kelly believes all brands must make a personal connection. Consumers make their decisions based on their feelings, and they justify their decision with the facts.
Now, after more than two decades of strategic marketing, branding and web design on behalf of clients in a variety of industries, Kelly has rekindled her passion for developing and launching brands.
Helping brands, businesses and professionals reach their potential is more than a job for Kelly. Her dedication to community-building and enhancing opportunities for students is evident in her charitable activities, which include chairing a $3.75 million fundraising campaign for a school corporation and creating an elementary school read-a-thon and committee work at Indiana University.
Being based in Bloomington, Indiana—one of America’s top college towns—not only helps Kelly keep her finger on the pulse of America’s next generation, it also gives her immediate access to the market for focus groups and other research initiatives. The Kelly King Advisory Board provides quick feedback for brand messaging and design decisions. Kelly knows she does not know all the answers, and her opinion is not always the right for the brand, but she does know how to get the feedback and answers through her Advisory Board and connections throughout North America.
Of course, when you are dealing with the Next Generation, there’s no research like raising children of your own. Having a teenage girl and a tween boy at home gives Kelly unique insights into today’s youth, from how they think to how they communicate—to what really matters to them.
